TO BP AND PRESIDENT OBAMA

Emergeny Food Assistance to Be Provided to Fisherman Families


WHO:   Hundreds of Gulf Coast families are being brought together by the Commercial Fisherman of America, Global Green USA, and others

WHAT:    The Shrimping/Fishing Community and Environmental Groups join forces at Grand Isle, Lousiana to send a giant human text message to BP, President Obama, and the country in response to the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill. Supporters from New Orleans will join for a community barbecue and provide 300 boxes of donated food from Second Harvest.
 
The event is a call to action for a full clean up of the spill, restitution for lost jobs and income, and accelerated efforts towards green energy and green jobs. The event will culminate in a large-scale aerial photograph of hundreds of participants delivering a message with their bodies.
 
WHEN:  1 PM, Sunday, May 16, 2010

WHERE:   Public Beach at foot of Grand Isle Bridge on Grand Isle, LA
(Directions from New Orleans: Take 90West to LA 1 South towards Grand Isle State Park. Go 63 miles and cross Grand Isle bridge. Event is at Public Beach at foot of Grand Isle Bridge just past (next to) Bridgeside Marina.
