Steve Toth WILD THING
Like raccoons with food to wash Like egrets deliberately stepping Like cormorants spreading our wings exposing the feathers to the air Like grebes dipping beneath the surface We love to do the wild thing
Like flight is a good escape Like there’s nothing in between Not like assemblages of matter but more like manipulations of energy Like we’ve traveled a long way & still we love to do the wild thing
Like a broken line of some 80 odd geese honking encouragement in the sky Like bear cubs crossing a road Like sea lions barking in the distance Like elks breaking down a fence We love to do the wild thing
