A Poem
by Jack Collom

At Naropa
they talk about Negative Capability all the time.
It's like the First Law of Themobuddho-ismus.
So Jack Greene was introducing Bobbie the other night

going on about the Shaxperian inspiration, of it, the Bobbie-ness,
the profound indeterminacy, etc. etc.
& a helium balloon blew up there
& clung to the mike.

Nobody could focus on the precise
divagations of Jack's thought,
until Bobbie got up, made an irritable reach
& plucked it away.

Thank God.
