Aqua Vitae

36" x 48"

acrylic on canvas

This painting illustrates the unpredictable nature of life. Even though we will all eventually meet our doom in some way, we sail on through it all despite that fact. This scene is set at mid-life, the eye of the storm is visible and the waves are converging from different directions. The sea monsters are all from old maps and paintings drawn more from a sailors imagination than life.
